I believed my parents and teachers who told me that the most important part of you is above you (your brain), just need to use it!
I started in the green industry at 6 years old, when I started my journey, and have the goal to leave a better world for my children and future generations.
My Education started at Universidad Autónoma Chapingo in Texcoco, Mexico State, helping the poor people and those who feed us. I always remember they saying to me Mi Casa es tu casa, my home is your home.
I am an agronomy engineer who likes to solve problems. My parents were teachers, and my Dad was an agronomy engineer.
I started working for a private company to export the flowers to the US and Canada, and to provide consultancy. Continuing my MSc at the Postgraduate College, I won a scholarship from the British Council and DeMontfort University, and we tried to develop an export project of flowers to Europe, returning to Mexico and winning a scholarship from Conacyt in Mexico, trying to complete my Ph.D. in Canada.
The Bilingual programs brought us to the US and started working in Commerce City, Denver, Bethune, Greeley, Glenwood Springs, and Aurora, Colorado, in addition to Liberal, Kansas.
Worked for Arbor Valley Nursery, a company producing plants, shrubs, and trees as a Horticultural Scientist, trying to find new ways to improve crop production and minimize the effects of pests, weeds, irrigation, stress, and create resilient plants. Researching plant genetics, physiology, diseases, and methods for growing crops and creating resilient plants in their landscaping environment with Precision Agriculture, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Engineering (invention!), Arts and Making Math (STEAM). Research, investigation, consultation, and education with the Global Green Industry in project management & growing techniques for quality production, applying innovative technologies for cutting-edge, agile training and education, expanding new horizons thanks to Matt Edmunson and Dan Lira, dedicated to service, quality, value, and innovation!
Now, at the heart of a new crisis Coronavirus infection bring us together to think out of the box and show the best of us to find solutions, we need to protect our planet Earth creating Sustainable Expeditionary Learning, Project-Based Smart Cities, International Experiences Education, STEAM Creating new learning environments including talent diversity, like the Hispanics, Indians, and people of color and whites collaborating together.
We must work together, building bridges because we only have one home, planet Earth, finding solutions to climate-related issues, and plants, creating a beloved global community.
The biggest threat to the future of the planet is not agriculture. It is our inability to work together to apply the solutions we have at hand to the problems we all face.
